The York School of Ministry Diploma in Theology, Mission and Ministry provides a theological education in and for a variety of contexts, including preparing people for lay and ordained ministry and mission within the church. The programme also serves those who wish to be more fully equipped for Christian life and service in the world, or simply more informed about the Christian faith.
The Higher Education Diploma is validated and awarded by Durham University under the Common Awards Scheme. It aims to equip Christian disciples and ministers to develop as competent and faithful reflective practitioners and enables students to acquire competence in a range of subject areas up to higher education level 5.
Running over four years, the programme is delivered via termly 20 credit modules, each comprising up to 12 taught sessions. Continuing to Diploma level the modules include Christian Spirituality, Pastoral Care, Preaching, further Biblical and doctrinal studies, Anglicanism and opportunities for independent study on a topic of choice.

Assessment:
For those studying for credit each module includes written assessment, which can take a variety of forms (for example, essays, personal reflections, case studies) depending upon the specific module content, however, there are no written examinations.
Students wishing to gain the Diploma must complete 240 credits. Successful completion of the Diploma enables students to continue to the BA Programme.
Requirements:
The course is accessible to a wide range of people from those with no formal academic qualifications to post graduates.

£100 per module – teaching only £300 per module – fully accredited module
